Parliament, on Tuesday, 5 April 2022, brought to an end debate on the State of the Nation Address (SoNA) delivered by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on March 30, 2022.
Wrapping up the debate, Minority leader, Haruna Iddrisu, highlighted more on the cost of living which he said has become very high in the country.
He also called on the Minister of Roads and the Finance Minister to protect private contractors.
He further admonished the Finance Minister to come clear on his tax exemption policies and called on the house to process the Tax Exemption Bill currently before them and pass it into law.
For his part, the Majority Leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu questioned the absence of Former President John Dramani Mahama at this year’s SoNA.
He concluded that the Akufo-Addo-led administration is doing far better than the Mahama administration.
He agreed with President Akufo-Addo that Covid was responsible for the current state of the economy.
Parliament is, however, rising today and would reconvene later in May.
