Human Rights activist and lawyer, Mawuse Oliver Barker-Vormawor has gone to town with a luxurious building located in Aburi in the Eastern Region, as belonging to the President, Nana Akufo-Addo.
The store-building which from afar appears to be full of glass with a huge compound. It looked completed and well furnished with curtains fitted indicating it has occupants. It also has some security fixtures including an electric fence.
He alleges that “theasset has been hidden in the name of the Minister for National Security”.
Mr. Barker-Vormawor, who posted several pictures of the plush building on his facebook page, last Saturday wrote “I also have pictures of the Mansion NAPO (Minister of Energy) has built on the Aburi stretch”.
Mr. Barker-Vomawor, who is the lead convenor of the group FixTheCountry, also stated that “Assets derived from theft are alround us. The only way a non NPP government can fight the level of corruption all around us is to learn from the PNDC, and make use of asset forfeiture laws”.
But for now, “the courts belong to them, you won’t be allowed to prosecute them successfully”.
The lawyer expressed his willingness “to take any journalist who is interested in the story there”, adding “I will go with a drone next time”.
