The Chairman of the National Democratic Congress ( NDC) , Mr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, has urged all aspirants contesting various positions in this weekend’s constituency elections to stay true to the tenets of the party.
He said, the time has come again for the NDC to show to the world that it is the bastion of democracy and expects this to be reflected in the ongoing polls.
“ As we go into our constituency elections this weakened, I urge all our aspirants to conduct themselves in a decorum and restraint as we further cement our credentials as the world’s foremost democratic party”, he said .
In a statement released by the Office OfThe National Chairman, wishing the aspirants well, Mr Ampofo, indicated that all aspirants should keep an eye on the ultimate goal which is annexing power from the ruling New Patriotic Party in the 2024 general elections.
“ Let me take this opportunity to remind all of you that this elections is the means to the ultimate end of a resounding victory come December 2024.There is a higher purpose and calling that we must respond to. Across the country, there is a genuine cry for the return of the NDC to rescue the country and we must not faint neither must we lose sight of this. We must heed this call and work to meet the expectation of Ghanaians”, he stressed.
The constituency elections which is being held this weekend ( October 22 and 23rd) is preceding the national executive elections which comes off in December.
