The Minister for Education,  Haruna Iddrisu, has urged the Ghana Telecom University College (GTUC) to prioritize Artificial Intelligence (AI) and coding in its academic programs as part of efforts to enhance ICT education in Ghana.

Speaking at the inauguration of GTUC’s Governing Council, Mr. Iddrisu called for the integration of AI and coding into the university’s core curriculum. He also advocated for the supervised use of mobile phones to support students who demonstrate a keen interest in digital technology.

Highlighting GTUC’s strategic role in shaping Ghana’s ICT landscape, the Minister emphasized the importance of upgrading infrastructure to support the university’s mission and meet growing technological demands.

Mr. Iddrisu, who played a pivotal role in the establishment of GTUC following Vodafone’s acquisition of Ghana Telecom, expressed satisfaction with the institution’s growth and achievements over the years.
