The Central Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof. Richard Kofi Asiedu, has given a stern warning to the governing party that their breaking the 8 agenda will only remain a tagline so far as Central region is concern
According to him, the NDC is poised to winning election 2024 and Central region will be the game changer.
The National and Regional leadership of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) were in Cape Coast on Sunday, January 15, on a reconciliation programme dubbed “reconciling the rank and
file of the New Patriotic Party in the Central Region.
Speaking at the event, the Central Regional Chairman of the Party, Robert Kutin Jnr, hinted of the party’s readiness to win the 2024 general elections.
He, however, cautioned members not to allow any misunderstanding to foil their effort to retain power in 2024.
Reacting to the NPP’s reconciliation visit in the region, Prof. Asiedu hinted that the NDC is not living any stone unturned in ensuring that the region becomes a traditional region for the NDC like the Volta and Oti regions.
“The NDC in Central region is already united and preparing for the victory ahead of us. We want our friends in the NPP to know that we are not going to sleep because they have mismanaged
every sector of the economy. We will ensure that this region becomes a traditional region like Volta and Oti.”
“Their breaking the 8 mantra will remain a tagline not because we feel we are winning election 2024, but because we are seriously working hard to increase our votes and winning some additional seats for the NDC.”
Prof. Richard Asiedu, However, called on all party supporters in the region to remain focused and work earnestly to win seats in their various constituencies for the collective good of the party and the country at large.
“We cannot fail the party the same way we cannot fail the country, Ghanaians are looking up to us to bring some respite in the economy, let’s begin our victory campaign from now,” he said
