Ashie Moore’s Ghc50,000 prevents shut down of NDC office

Emmanuel Ashie Moore

By Patrick Biddah

The timely intervention of the newly elected Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress ( NDC) , Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore, has prevented a shut down of the party’s regional office .

This is in view of a $38,000 debt arising out of the failure to pay the rent of regional office located at South Labadi.

The $38,000, is a rent arrears the new leadership  of the party came to meet.

Incidentally, this office happens to have hosted many activities of the party, including the running of the regional elections, venue for the hearing of the Kwesi Botchwey committee and among others.

The Ghc50, 000, had to be coughed up after complains and threat by owners of the property to shut it down .

Information available to The Herald  indicates that the Speaker of Parliament. Rt. Hon Alban Sumana Bagbin, has also made a personal donation of Ghc100, 000, to offset part of debt when he was reached for support.

With still some amount left to pay, Ashie Moore has therefore, appealed to other party faithful, especially those NDC members in the Diaspora who hails from the Greater Accra region to also come and support.

This , notwithstanding, the regional chairman has given indications of mobilizing funds to construct  an ultra- modern  office to  end the issue of rent for the party.
