Two female lesbians on the late hours of January 1, 2024, escape what could be described as an instant justice at the neighbourhood of Dichemso, a suburb of the Ashanti Region.
One of the victims, Hamdiya Umar, was monitored by her male lover who accused her of cheating on him.
Hamdiya’s unnamed alleged male lover after suspecting her of having an affair with another man trailed her to a hotel after a night party in the locality.
To his surprise, Hamdiya was rather having an amorous affair with a woman, said to be her lesbian partner in one of the Hotel rooms.
An intense brawl erupted at the scene between the two lesbians and Hamdiya’s alleged male lover.
The rumpus attracted people from the community. With an enhanced energy, people trooped to the hotel to catch the glimpse of the commotion following bouts of shouts.
As the crowd swell in numbers, the premises of the hotel turned into an eyesore. A source in a state of anonymity told this outlet that the man who claimed to be in a love relationship with Hamdiya appeared dumbfounded upon seeing his lover engage in an affair with a same sex partner.
It is alleged that the man at the centre of the fracas is said to be wealthy and as such has spent so much money and resources in nursing and keeping his relationship with Hamdiya.
This, the source explained has heavily infuriated the man. He is quoted to have yelled at the hotel premises.‘‘I thought you were even cheating on me with another man. How can you be this so heartless? Having advanced in this relationship, you have decided to engage in lesbianism?’’.
The lesbians, the source noted were able to escape through the windows of the Hotel. Suspected homosexuals usually suffer humiliations from members of their religious organisations. All religious faiths in most part of the black continent abhor same sex relationship and as such consider persons who engage in same as outcasts and their practice, a disgrace to religious faith.
The source is unable to tell the where about of the lesbians. Suspects and relations usually shy away from the public. Our efforts to establish contact with the suspects prove futile.
Law makers are awaiting a verdict from the Supreme Court regarding a parliamentary bill that was passed early this year, seeking to criminalised homosexuality.
