There is no gainsaying the fact that, many Ghanaians are disappointed in what appears to be a spat in their face, when some Minority Members of Parliament, went rogue last Friday and voted to approve ministers nominated by president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Since the inception of this parliament, which is a hanged one, Ghanaians have expected more not only from the minority, but their majority counterpart as well, but it seems in the opinion of this newspaper, the situation, has been a curse, rather than a blessing, because it is alleged that in most decisions taken in the House, which are critical, including the passage of the ministers, some members have been compromised.
In as much as this newspaper, will love to dwell on what happened last Friday, we wish to call on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to as a matter of urgency, focus their attention and energies on the Constitutional Instrument (CI) the Electoral Commission, is seeking to lay in the House.
The EC with its new C.I, is seeking to use the Ghana Card as the source document for registration onto the voters register.
When this happens a lot of people are going to be disenfranchised, because the National Identification Authourity (NIA) does not have the capacity and resources to provide Ghana card to every eligible voter.

We have witnessed the chaos that followed the decision by the Ministry of Communication through the National Communication Authourity, to have all sim cards re-registered.
Voting is a fundamental right of every citizen which enables them to choose those that will govern them. And they must not only be guaranteed that right, they must be seen to exercise such rights freely. Anything short of this standard is clearly unacceptable.
We are saddened by the insistence of the Electoral Commission, which is supported by the governing New Patriotic Party, to still go ahead with the CI, despite the calls from the opposition political parties, civil society organizations etc.
We strongly suggest the NDC, must not let Ghanaians down this time around. They are the last hope of the dying Ghanaian.
