We are not recruiting; Ghana Immigration Service warns

The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) says it is currently not undertaking and recruitment. It has thus, warned prospective applicants to be careful, following a fake recruitment advertisement by some unseen hands on social media.

In a press release, its public Affairs Directorate, admonished the public against falling victim to what it described as recruitment fraud.

 “The public is therefore being admonished to disregard any such recruitment exercise as advertised on social media”.

The service, also called on the public to report any person who claims to be offering jobs on a fee to law enforcers.

Below is the release copied The Herald.

IMMIGRATION RECRUITMENT FRAUD ALERT

Management of the Ghana Immigration Service wishes to inform and caution the general public especially prospective job applicants that the Service is not undertaking any recruitment exercise as advertised on social media.

The public is therefore being admonished to disregard any such recruitment offers on social media

Again members of the public are advised not to pay moneys to any recruitment agent through momo.These persons are fraudsters who are only duping innocent job seekers of their hard earned money. When the GIS is ready to recruit it will inform members of the general public through advertisement in the national dailies.

The Ghana Immigration Service has not authorized any person or group of persons to conduct any recruitment exercise on its behalf on social media be it special protocol recruitment or general recruitment.

Members of the public are therefore to report and person who claims to be offering jobs for a fee to the nearest GIS office or to the Police for the necessary action to be taken.
