Vice President returns from medical trip to UK

Vice President, Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang returned to Accra, yesterday afternoon from London, United Kingdom, where she had been receiving medical treatment.

She was warmly received at Kotoka International Airport (KIA) by President John Dramani Mahama, First Lady, Lordina Dramani Mahama, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, the Vice President’s Chief of Staff Alex Segbefia, and other senior government officials.

The Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church and members of the Vice President’s family were also present to welcome her.

In a brief statement to the media, Professor Opoku-Agyemang expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Ghanaians for their prayers and well wishes during her time away.

She also extended her appreciation to the medical team at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) and her doctors in the UK for their care and professionalism.

She further acknowledged President Mahama and his brother, Ibrahim Mahama’s unwavering support, describing their thoughtfulness and concern as “deeply reassuring” throughout her recovery.
