Muslims in Adenta enclave gets ultra-modern mosque

A-350 worshipping mosque capacity for Muslims in the Adenta community and its environs has been commissioned at a ceremony in Accra.

The mosque, which has facilities such as washrooms, guest rooms, office for an Imam among others  was put up by a renowned philanthropist of Muslim descent, Yakubu Mohammed Saani.

Speaking on the motivation for financing the construction of the mosque which is named the “Hajia Safia Yakubu Masjid “ Mr Yakubu Mohammed Saani, said it is a way of giving back to society.

According to him , it is also to reduce the travel time and bring to the doorsteps of residents a place of worship for Muslims in the Adenta community ,who had to travel to as far as Cantonments , Airport Residential, and other far distances to pray.

Mr.Mohammed Saani who is the Country Director for ActionAid of the DR Congo, entreated other members of his religion to see the mosque as their home and place they can deepen their faith.

Aside from this newly constructed  mosque which he said is estimated to have cost Ghc500, 000 , he revealed that there are two other ones in the Northern regional capital of Tamale.

Speaking on behalf of the National Chief Imam, Shieck Nuhu Osman Sharabutu, his Personal Assistant , Dr Mohammed Marzuq Abubakar Azindoo, was of the view that mosques provide the platform for peace and unity.

For him, it also an avenue for socialization, where worshipers meet and learn from each other, as well as, have discussions on available opportunities.

He urged the worshippers to develop the habit of maintaining the mosque for it to have a longer life.
