A General Secretary aspirant of the National Democratic Congress ( NDC) , Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, has declared to work with any executive who will be elected.
His religious, political, academic and ethnic background, he noted puts him in a position to work with anyone at the national executive level .
In his words, he can work even with the devil, if only it will guarantee the victory of the NDC.
“I can tell you all here that I can work with even the devil provided it will bring the victory of the NDC”, he stressed.
Addressing a press conference yesterday December 15, 2022, ahead of the NDC Delegates Congress tomorrow, Mr Afriyie Ankrah, presented himself as the best man for the General Secretary job.
He prides himself with the credentials of having held various positions in the party which puts him in a better position to become the next General Secretary of the party.
From working as the deputy campaign manager in 2004 to campaign manager in 2008 and campaign coordinator in 2012 as well as Director of Elections , Mr Afriyie Ankrah, urged delegate to give him the nod to do what he knows best when it comes to political party work.
Time, he said has revealed that it was not his mandate and that of the Election Directorate to have collated and transmitted election results as it was alleged against him in the past.
He also called on the delegates to question the sudden benevolence of some of the aspirants in the midst of the campaign when in their entire life, have not shown generosity to the delegates before.
On campaign messages, he entreated all aspirants seeking various positions in the party to be measured in the campaign utterances.
He said the current bad mouthing and counter vile language emanating from various aspirant should be ceased.
For him , such utterances goes to favour the shambolic New Patriotic Party ( NPP) government.
He has therefore urged his fellow aspirants to direct their energy towards campaigning largely at the NPP government, rather than running each other down.
He was of the view that the messages are being misdirected when the ‘enemy ‘ which should be the NPP is being let go.
“ I have seen this before. Normally, It is when people are losing that is when they run dirty campaign”, he added.
“ But what I can say is that I have ran a clean campaign “, he posited.
