Ghana 1: France 2- End of the dream

1654 Its over all over. France are in the finals. 2-1 it ends in favour of Les Bleuets. Ghana will have to settle for third place.

1651 Assifuah’s last gasp shot tipped away for corner. Corner cleared.

1640 Thauvin the two goal hero if out in a tactical switch. Boakye comes in for Ashia for Ghana as well.

1638 France down to ten men after Samuel Ntiti is red carded for a second yellow card.

1633 Thauvin gets a brace. He perfectly strikes with his superb left foot after cutting inside from the right. Goal !!!!! France restore their lead.

1629 Ghana knock again at the French defence and miss a great opportunity to get in front. Acheampong whips in a cross from the left but Anaba fails to get a full touch as the ball whisks agonisingly wide.

1621 Silky Clifford Aboagye is brought down 30 yards away from the French goal. Duncan blasts it wayward.

1618 The French make a rare attack on goal but a cross on the right by Thauvin is well dealt with by Ghana’s substitute goal keeper.

1612 Ghana have clearly dominated the early part of the second half and have kept Les Bleuets back tracking for most part.

1610 Ghana cry for a penalty appeal after Acheampong is held back but referee waves play must go on. He was perfectly placed to connect a neat pass on the right.

1608 Ghana nearly increase tally but a superb free-kick from Acheampong forces a superb save by the French goal keeper. Corner taken and a again the French goal keeper parries a goal bound header for another corner. The pressure is on and its the Ghanaians who have found their rhythm.

1606 Ghana is back in the game thanks to a stupendous goal by Ebenezer Assifuah. He beats two men and fires with his left foot. The ball takes a ricochet of the post and into the net for Ghana’s crucial equaliser. Goal!!!!!

1605 The second half is underway.

1603 Players of the two teams are filing back onto the pitch from the dug-out. Ghanaians say their prayers. Ghana make a first substitution. Eric Antwi goal keeper substitution after he received a knock. In comes Sai.

Its half time now. A half clearly dominated by French and have taken a deserved lead.

1545 Acheampong comes close to a Ghana equaliser but his glancing header goes inches wide. The closest Ghana has come to scoring.

1544 Thauvin makes amends beautifully as he runs past the Ghana defence, rounds up Antwi and slots the ball into an empty net for the Les Bleuets first goal. Goal!!!!!!

1543 Thauvin makes a lightening run on the left, beats two Ghanaians on the run but his final strike inches just wide.

1535 Pogba tries an audacious 35 yards strike which goes completely wayward much to the chagrin of his team mate and his coach.

1530 France again and its Sanongo again who is on rampage. He beats his Ghana marker well but his final shot to feeble to beat Atwi in post for Ghana.

1528 Ghana make a rare incursion on the left with Acheampong whipping a cross with the outside of his foot but there is nobody to connect as the ball passes the face of goal.

1527 The game getting a lot physical. The Ghana side struggling to get to the final third of the French side.

1515 Its the French who are dominating the game in the opening 15 minutes of the game. Ghana are lucky to draw level with the French wasting three glorious opportunities. Slow start it is for the Satellites.

The Black Satellites of Ghana are currently playing France in a semi-final of the U20 tourney in a match that has revenge written all it. The French humbled the West African side in the opening Group A game and are looking to exert their superiority on them. The Satellites need much more than luck to beat a rugged and technically gifted side
