The Chiefs and people of the Asere Kotopon Division of the Ga State have installed Nii Ayi Mensah Okropong I, as a Chief Nii Boiman traditional area in the Greater Accra region.
The installation ceremony took place at the Asere Palace in Accra, conducted by Nuumo Blafo of the Asere stool and supported by the esteemed Chiefs and elders of Asere Kotopon, part of the revered Ga State.
Nii Ayi Mensah Okropong I, formerly the Dzasseste of the Nii Boiman traditional area, under the stool name, Nii Ayi Mensah I, has demonstrated exceptional leadership prowess in his previous role.
His dedication and commitment to the community have earned him the respect and trust of the people.
During the ceremony, the newly installed Chief swore the oath of allegiance, pledging to respond promptly to the calls of the chiefs and elders.
In his acceptance speech, Nii Ayi Mensah Okropong I, expressed profound gratitude to the Chiefs and people of Asere for their confidence repose in him.
He vowed to preserve the rich heritage of the Nii Boiman community while safeguarding the properties of the Asere Kotopong stool.
“In my quest for community growth, I will strive to bring development and progress to our community. I shall seek wisdom from elders and experts to guide my decisions.” He added.
The Dzaasetse of Asere Kotopon, Nii Amarkai III, admonished Nii Ayi Mensah Okropong I, to respect the traditions and customs of the Ga state.
“Remember, our ancestors’ ways are our guiding principles. Uphold our traditions and customs, and ensure they are passed down to future generations.” Nil Amarkai III stated.
Advising on spiritual guidance, the Asere Dzasetse stated; “Seek divine guidance and wisdom. Our ancestors’ spirits and the Almighty will guide you in your leadership.”
Touching on unity and inclusivity, Nii Amarkai III, emphasized that “as Chief, you are the father of our community. Ensure equality and fairness for all, regardless of lineage or social status.”
On his part, the Chief of Asere Kotopon, Nii Asere Boi II, encouraged Nii Ayi Mensah Okropong I, to make use of transparency and accountability at all times.
“Lead with integrity and transparency, be accountable to your people, and ensure resources are utilized for the benefit of all.” Nii Asere Boi II advised.
The coronation ceremony signifies a new era of leadership and growth for Nii Boiman. As Nii Ayi Mensah Okropong I, embarks on his journey as Chief, the community looks forward to his vision and guidance in promoting development and unity.
In a related development, nineteen (19) persons were ushered to various families of the Asere Kotopong after the necessary traditional rites and rituals were made to signify their acceptance into the Asere Kotopong family.
Some individuals had to be assigned different roles, including stool Queen Mother, Asafoatsemei (Royal Warriors) and Oshipee, amongst others, to partner with the newly installed Chief of Nii Boiman Manste, Nii Ayi Mensah Okropong I, to ensure a successful reign.
