Charles Adu Boahen, former Minister of State at the Finance Ministry and brother of the late Dr Christopher Adu Boahen, has commended the National Security for the arrest of a man suspected to have killed his brother.
Christopher was buried yesterday, Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Gethsemane Memorial Garden, East Legon, after a memorial service at Accra Ridge Church.
The house help of Christopher, the deceased son of the late Professor Alber Adu Boahen, a prominent figure in Ghanaian politics, has been taken into custody in connection with the murder of his former boss.
Dr Adu Boahen, who lived with physical disabilities, following an accident, was reportedly the victim of an armed robbery at his residence in East Legon, Accra.
On Wednesday, Charles, disclosed that the suspect, the most recent domestic worker employed by his brother, was found in possession of Dr Boahen’s personal belongings, including his phone, laptop, and wallet, at the time of his arrest.
“The guy has been caught. He was still in possession of Kwaku’s phone, laptop, and wallet when he was apprehended. He was his last house help. He started working for Kwaku on the 6th of March. He has confessed,” the former Minister of State at the Finance Ministry and brother of the deceased stated.
Expressing gratitude to the National Security team for their diligent efforts, the brother of the deceased highlighted their effective detective work in apprehending the suspect. While withholding further details for the time being, he assured that more information would be provided in due course.
“The National Security team has been phenomenal and did some serious detective work. I can’t give any further details for now but I will do so as soon as I am able to. But at least now we have closure and can lay our brother to rest in peace,” he revealed.
