The Vice-President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and some officials of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) have separately paid a visit to the Amrahia residence of the late Agnes Adzovi Okudzeto, a stalwart of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to commiserate with her family.
Mrs Okudzeto, popularly called “Daavi” passed away exactly a week ago, at age 79.
At the residence to receive the Vice-President were, Commander K.T. Dovlo, the Head of Dovlo family, Air Vice Marshall Kobla Dovlo, Wisdom Dovlo, Godwin Ahadzi, Seth Dovlo and the widower C.P.K Okudzeto.
Mrr Okudzeto, was a two-time Second National Vice Chairperson of the ruling NPP, and also a member of the National Council of Elders of the party.
The NPP at its National Delegates Conference, last week Saturday, observed a minute silence for her, for her enormous contribution to the party.
The Vice President, who signed a book of condolence opened by the Okudzeto and the Dovlo families, described Mrs Okudzeto’s demise as a “shock” to him.
He noted that, she “lived a life of kindness, truth and integrity”, adding he believes that a good person like her is already in heaven.
According to Dr. Bawumia, he will miss their interactions and the regular advice and support she gave him.
Dr Bawumia, was accompanied by some aides, including Dr Gideon Boako, an Economic Advisor and Spokesperson at the Office of the Vice President.
Also part of Dr Bawumia’s delegation, wasAnthony Abayifaa Karbo, former NPP Member of Parliament of the Lawra Constituency in the Upper West Region, who was served as a Deputy Minister for Roads and Highways in the first term of the Akufo-Addo administration.
The NPA delegation, led by its Chief Executive, Dr Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, was in the house to commiserate with Curtis Perry Okudzeto, who is a Deputy Chief Executive at the Authority and a son of Mrs Okudzeto.
