6th BHOBU games comes off on July 9 at Madina Sports Complex

The 6th edition of BHOBU Games, will take place on Saturday July 9, at the ultramodern Madina Sports Complex (Libya Quarters Astroturf), in Accra.

At stake is the bragging right of the fittest year group and who takes away the coveted trophy.

The annual alumni games of Bishop Herman College, which started in 2015 brings old boys and their associates together to have fun, fraternize and discuss ways to support their alma mater.

This year’s BHOBU Games coincides with the 70th anniversary of the College and organizers intend to use the event to mobilizee funds towards the renovation of the Giant Block of the College and other projects leading up to the Anniversary, which will be climaxed in November this year.

The annual event had a two-year break due to the COVID pandemic but it is set to come back in a bigger and exciting way, organizers have promised.

Chairman of the BHOBU Games Planning Committee, J.P. Adjadeh is very optimistic that the strategies put in place, including the change of venue to the ultramodern Madina Sports Complex, the introduction of BHOBU Games replica jerseys and the preparations by the various participating year groups, will ensure another successful edition.

Mr Adjadeh, urged corporate bodies to take advantage of the event that attracts huge and quality patronage, to market their brands through sponsorship.

The President of the Old Boys Union (BHOBU), Dr Michael Setor Osae, entreated old boys to participate in their numbers as part of the anniversary celebrations.

He also extended special invitation to Past OLA Girls Association (POGA) and other old student associations to come and network.

The old boys will be engaged in a thrilling football gala and other games such as table tennis, oware, draft, chess, as well as field events such as 100m dash, 4*100m, tug of war and eating competition.

Basketball and volleyball, will also be available at the venue on non-competitive basis.
