The Minority in Parliament has waded into the claims of abuse of power following allegations of Serwaa Broni, the woman who claims to have had an affair with President Akufo-Addo.

Among other allegations, the woman claims government sponsored an attack on her in order to silence her from making public her relationship with the President.

In an interview with popular social media activist, Kevin Taylor, Serwaa Broni showed alleged text messages between her and the President.

In a statement on the development, Minority Haruna Iddrisu said “The NDC Caucus in Parliament has become aware of very scandalous allegations contained in an interview granted Mr. Ekow Kevin Taylor by Madam Evelyn Serwaa Broni on Easter Sunday the 17th of April, 2022. These allegations, if proven to be true, raise grave charges of abuse of office, human right violations and conduct which bring the high office of President of Ghana into disrepute.
