Stephen Amoah appointed board member of GCB Bank

NPP MPs Secretly Running Away From E-Levy

Dr Stephen Amoah, a member of the finance committee of Parliament has been appointed a non executive director of the board of GCB Bank.

According to a circular from the Ghana Stock Exchange(GSE) on Tuesday (8 March) his appointment takes effect from 24 February 2022.

“GCB announces the appointment of Hon. Dr. Stephen Amoah as a Non-Executive Director of the Board of the Bank effective February 24, 2022,” it said.

Meanwhile the Bank  has also appointed Daniel Kweku Tweneboah Asirifi as a Non-Executive Director of the Board of the Bank effective February 24, 2022.

Stephen Amoah is a Ghanian politican and the Member of Parliament for the Nhyiaeso. He is also a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He attended the Opoku Ware School, Kumasi and obtained a Master of Science degree in Strategic Finance Management from University of Derby, United Kingdom as well as a Bachelor of Science Degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana.

Stephen Amoah served as the chief finance officer of Kencity. He was also the deputy national coordinator of the National Insurance Authority (NHIA).

He was appointed in February 2017 by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as the chief executive officer for the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC).

In the 2020 general elections, he contested for the NPP primaries. He won the primaries in June 2020 for the Nhyiaeso, defeating Kennedy Kwasi Kankam.
