The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has debunked publications indicating that the Ghana School Feeding Program is on hold.

According to the Ministry, the stories making the rounds on both traditional and social media are not true and urged parents and pupils, caterers and the general public to disregard the publications.

The Public Affairs Unit of the Ministry explained that the Minister was rather responding to whether or not the program would be extended to some selected schools in the Yilo Krobo Municipality.

The Minister’s response was “Currently, the expansion of the program is on hold. We are clearing all arrears of caterers and putting in place measures to ensure effective and efficient service delivery to all beneficiaries as well as caterers.

“We are also putting in place a Management Information System to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the system. We shall surely inform the house when we are ready to expand the program to cover additional schools.”
