Residents of Denkyini-Akotosu, a suburb in Goaso, are raising concerns about the deteriorating road system in their community.
The road, has become muddy and slippery, causing damage to vehicles, and posing a risk to drivers and pedestrians.
According to drivers, the muddy condition, has led to punctured, torn, or worn-down tires, and reduced traction and control, making it harder to slow down or stop in time to avoid obstacles.
The mud, also reduces visibility, making it difficult to see other vehicles or obstacles. Assemblyman Mark Amoako, confirmed that the government has responded to their petitions and is set to construct the road.
“We are looking forward to seeing the improvements,” he said. Residents and drivers, are calling on the authorities to address the situation, citing the challenges and risks posed by the muddy road.
Kwame Asare, a concerned driver, expressed, “The mud makes driving bumpy and uncomfortable, reduces visibility, and increases the risk of accidents, especially when other vehicles contribute to more mud.”
Mensah Mark, another driver, emphasized that “the slippery mud reduces traction, making vehicle control harder,” and urged authorities to address the situation.
Auntie Gifty, a concerned resident, stressed that “the challenging mud condition has made walking and driving very difficult,” highlighting the need for proper road maintenance to minimize mud accumulation.
