The Privileges Committee of Parliament has deferred the decision on the fate of the Member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, to the entire plenary.
The recalcitrant MP who has gained notoriety in the last few months for her videos on Tik Tok rather than Parliamentary work in Ghana ignored several requests by the Committee to explain why she had continuously absented herself from the chamber without permission for more than 15 days.
The entire plenary will now determine the fate of the MP who has been posting videos from her new base in the United States of America.
However, the committee by 15-12 majority decision determined that the excuse of ill-health from Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong and Ayawaso Central MP, Henry Quartey is tenable and thus, they should not lose their seats.
The report is expected to be laid before the House in the coming days for a decision to be taken.
Ranking member for the privileges committee Rickett Hagan confirmed to Starr News that both Kennedy Agyapong and Henry Quartey were cleared on health grounds even though there were disagreements between the minority and majority sides.
