As part of activities marking its 41st anniversary celebrations, Midway Hospital in collaboration with the Good Shepherd Methodist Church Girl’s Fellowship of the North Kaneshie Circuit of the Methodist Church Ghana, has organised a free health screening exercise for residents of Kaneshie and its environs in the Greater Accra region.
The people were screened for health conditions and ailments, such as blood pressure, hypertension, blood sugar level, diabetes, eye disorders, Hepatitis B, and malaria through the rapid diagnostic test, among others.
Speaking in an interview with the Herald Newspaper, the Medical Director of Midway Hospital, Dr Gifty Quarshie-Ngissah, underscored the importance for everyone, especially women and children to visit the hospital for regular check-ups.
She stated that as a female hospital specialized in orthopedics and gynecological health, hence assist young ladies find solution to problems they have in their young age and to teach them how to prevent some conditions associated with women health.
Dr Quarshie-Ngissah, added that their aim was to ensure quality healthcare for women and children and make sure that a lot them in the communities who could not afford high medical bills are given the opportunity to benefit from the free medical health screening.
On his part, the Medical Officer of the Midway Hospital, Dr Emmanuel Bortey, noted that good health is a complete state of mind and entreated Ghanaians to take good care of themselves.
He added that the exercise was part of their contribution to help promote public health and also bring good healthcare to the doorstep of the people.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to Midway Hospital for the gesture and urged them to repeat the gesture often.
