Over the weekend, Ambassador Tom Nørring, visited the Frederich Minde house in Osu.
The house is named in memory of the Danish plantation ‘Frederiksgave’ established by King Frederik IV of Denmark just outside contemporary Accra in the early 19th century.
Located along the Christiansborg Castle road, the house has an inscription on the gate that reads: “FREDERICHS MINDE 1840 W.I. WULFF “. A historic relic, which is home to the mortal remains of Mr Wulff J. Wulff, who came to Ghana in 1836 to work at Christiansborg.
Today, Frederich Minde house is home to the Wulff-Cochrane family, which is the 7th generation of descendants from Mr. Wulff J. Wulff. Many Scandinavians who visit Ghana pay homage to this place and the family always welcome them with open arms.
The Ambassador would like to thank the Wulff-Cochrane family for the warm welcome.
