Ghana’s relay team sets New National Record with fifth place finish

Ghana’s relay team have set a new national record despite missing out on a medal in the finals after finishing fifth at the ongoing World Athletics Championship in Oregon, USA.

The quartet of Joseph Paul Amoah, Benjamin Azamati, Sean Safo and Joseph Oduro Manu produced a new national record of 38.07 on Sunday morning finishing behind Canada, USA, Great Britain and Jamaica.

Meanwhile, Joseph Paul Amoah produced another impressive split run of 8.92 seconds.

At the end of the race, Canada won gold with a time of 37.8 to upset the host USA who had to settle for Silver with a time of 37.55.

Great Britain and Jamaica finished third and fourth with times of 37.83 and 38.06 respectively.
