An Accra-based businessman, Mr Robert Roy Reindorf, has accused the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of vandalizing the country.
According to him, the evidence of galamsey and its destruction of the country’s water bodies is one such example.
Aside from this, he said the shoot and kill which has characterized the electoral process of the country and in the face of lack of prosecution has sent the country backwards.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, Mr Reindorf, indicated that both the President and the Vice President have gone contrary to the Oaths of office they sworn to uphold.
In view of this, he has called for their removal from office within the next 14 days.
To achieve this, however, he has urged for the recall of Parliament to start the process of impeaching the President.
“ I and on behalf of those Ghanaians who reason like me, therefore call on Ghana’s Speaker of Parliament to convey an EMERGENCY sitting of parliament within seven working days from today, for an IMMEDIATE IMPEACHMENT PROCEEDINGS for the INEVITABLE REMOVAL of PRESIDENT NANA AKUFFO ADDO and his Vice, DR. MAHAMUDU BAWUMIAH within fourteen (14) working days from today from their High Offices of the now (VANDALIZED, LOOTED RANSACKED DEVASTATED AND DESTROYED GHANA whose SOVEREIGNTY AND INTEGRITY) are in RUINS”, he noted.
“ It is worth pointing out that Ghana under the leadership of President Akufo-Addo and Bawumia is in ruins and they must be removed from office by the Parliament of Ghana”, he stressed.
With Ghana’s water bodies destroyed before the eyes of Ghana’s President, he said they indeed must be stopped .
“Ghana’s sovereignty of Farming Lands have also now been destroyed in co-operation with some Chinese galamseyers, since Nana Akufo-Addo’s first four (4) years in the High Office of government which has continued till date all before the NAKED EYES of this same president and his vice”, he reiterated
He also used urged the political actors to be careful as we inch closer to the 2024 general elections, in order not to fuel any disturbances, saying he has survived three assassination attempts in Togo and Ivory Coast arising out of political instability.
He, therefore condemned the statement by the Agriculture Minister, Mr. Bryan Acheampong who claimed the New Patriotic Party, will not hand over power to the National Democratic Congress.
