The Ashanti Regional office of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has welcomed the decision by some aggrieved members of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) to cross carpet.
The Regional Chairman Andrews Nana Akwasi told TV3’s William Evans-Nkum “We are expecting more people to join the NDC because of bad governance.”
On Monday, some aggrieved supporters of the NPP in the Fomena Constituency decorated their Constituency party office with NDC colours and also fixed posters of former President John Dramani Mahama.
The group suspects leadership of the party is trying to impose the Second Deputy Speaker Andrew Amoako Asiamah, an independent candidate who left the party in 2020. Hence their anger.
