Finding the best use of plastics, seemed to have been found as roofing sheets in the market are being produced from this waste.
Dophil Roofing Systems, which is a subsidiary of Dophil Group, manufacturers of various types of roofing sheets using plastics, has called for collaborations and support to help rid the country of waste.
Speaking to Journalists at an exhibition during the Ghana Green Building Summit on Wednesday October 5, 2022 in Accra , the Sales Agent for Dophil Roofing System, Mr Bernard Adelashie, encouraged the general public to use their products since it affordable in view of the fact that the raw materials are the plastics which are normally waste.
He said the product is environmentally friendly, explaining that it does not generate heat and rather absorbs heat which is conducive for room temperature.
With a lifespan between 20 and 60 years, Mr Adelashie, said one other advantage is that the product is fire- proof and waterproof as well.
He called on other stakeholders, particularly the government to partner it in executing projects under the One District, One Factory policy .
He was optimistic that the challenge of Ghanaians not being aware of these locally manufactured products will be addressed when partnership deals are brokered.
“ We are opened for business .Estate developers, construction companies, government agencies, coastal communities and individualists should try our projects and will never regret it”, he assured.
