Dome Kwabenya NPP constituency secretary caught in tribal politics

Tension is brewing within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at Dome Kwanenya Constituency in the Greater Region, as some members have alleged that the Constituency Secretary, is dividing the party into tribal lines and undermining the party executives in the Constituency.

Theophilus Ansah Larbi, is heard on an audio recording, saying NPP members in the Constituency who are Ewes, should be ignored in the dealings, because “all Ewes are NDC. Even President Nana Akufo Addo is aware but he can’t say it.”

The ethnocentric statement has sparked anger among some party members.

The aggrieved members in the Constituency, who spoke to this paper believed that the actions and utterances of the secretary would affect the fortunes of the party in the 2024 elections.

They said the Ewes in the rank and file of the party, have worked tirelessly to help it to win political power.

According to the concerned party members in the Constituency, Mr Larbi, also managed to create divisions by removing people from the Constituency album just because some members did not agree with how he is running the party in the Constituency

“Because of him and the things he has done, half of the constituency is in court (Adetan High Court and Kwabenya Circuit Court) simply because they have been removed from the album,” a source told this paper.

“He is even having issues with some Constituency Executives just because they do not support him when he schemes against party people. He has masterminded the suspensions of party executives who do not support him,” they alleged.

Intelligence picked up by this paper, indicates that the constituents are planning to demonstrate against the Secretary, as efforts to get the national executives to bring him to order, have failed.
