One more police officer and a civilian have been arrested in connection with the Bullion van robbery attack.

Presenting an amended charge sheet to the court, lead prosecutor DSP Sylvester Asare noted that the 5th accused is a police officer who owns a mechanic shop operated by the 6th accused at Nsawam-Adoagyiri.

Constable Nelson Tetteh is a resident at Wa Police barracks while Buba Zakari operates the mechanic shop which rents out motorbikes in Nsawam-Adoagyiri.

Lawyers for the 6 accused persons respectively prayed the court to grant them bail after they all pleaded not guilty to charges of attempt to commit crime and abetment of crime, namely robbery.

But DSP Asare objected the application, citing that the accused persons are flight risk. The Accra Circuit Court 10 has denied a bail application.

Presiding judge Evelyn Asamoah denied the bail application and adjourned the case to June 2.
