Relationships are not new to the Big Brother Africa reality show. Annually, some housemates do bond and develop affections for each other: a number of them have actually led to serious relationships outside the show.
Notable amongst them is Big Brother Africa Revolution winner, Kevin Chuwang of Nigeria who married Tanzanian Elizabeth Gupta in 2011.
Another success story is that of Meryl Shikwambane and Mwisho Mwampamba, Big Brother Africa All Star housemates, who set a record by being the first lovebirds to marry in the Big Brother house.
This season’s show, Big Brother Africa The Chase, is almost a month old and already love is brewing in both houses – Rubies and Diamond.
Famous relationships so far are Bolt and Betty, and Elikem and Pokello. Another growing relationship is Botswana’s Oneal and the beautiful Feza from Tanzania.
Well, Ghanaian representative, Selorm (Selly) Ghalley is also joining the love list after she declared strong affections for Zambian representative Sulu.
The two are fond of each other and during Tuesday’s diary session, Selly told Big Brother that Sulu is the realistic person she has ever met and felt good around him.
The Ghanaian, who was blushing and beaming with excitement, revealed to Big Brother that the Zambian has told her that he will come to Ghana to marry her but since he hasn’t proposed to her yet, she was confused.
She said, “he tells me that he loves me but I am unsure of which kind of love,” and stressed that she will not declare her affections for him now since the onus lies on Sulu, the man, to propose love to her.
Right after the Diary session, Selly jumped into Sulu’s arms and confronted him with a question Big Brother had asked her: Why won’t he marry you in the Big Brother house?” An elated Sulu burst into an uncontrollable laughter.
During Sulu’s diary session, he told Big Brother that, “I like Selly. We get along because we are the same. She likes fun and I like fun. I am single and open to anything but only God knows the destiny.”
Selly is known to have a relationship with musician Steven Fiawoo (Praye Tiatia) of Praye fame. Is this move in the Big Brother house real or just a strategy?
