A parliamentary candidate contender in the upcoming parliamentary primaries of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) inthe Bawku central constituency of the Upper East region, has called on all contenders as well as their supporters to ply their campaign devoid of insults and hate-speech.
Mr Paul Agobire Alale- noted that all that his party need are love and unity. For him, internal elections are household activities that should not invite acrimony and disunity. “Any of us who will win at the primaries will need the collective effort of all of us to be able to win the seat”.
Describing himself as the man who has what it takes to win the Bawku central seat for his party, Mr Agobire, noted that politics is about understanding the very needs of the people.
“From where I stand, and with my level of political experience, I can confidently say that, I associate with the constituents. I know the needs of the people. If I am giving the nod, I will be able to satisfy my constituents”.
The communications team member of the party wouldn’t disclosed his political god-fathers, but was quick to add that,he is known to the rank and file of the elephant party. “ I have been with the party for a very long time and have played varied roles to the admirations of the party. I was an active member of TESCON during my University days. At the Navrongo campus of the University for Development studies, I played a pivoted role relative to our student political wing. I have being a core member of the constituency Communications team”.
He promised to engage opinion leaders in the Bawku municipality to broker peace.
The ruling New Patriot Party(NPP), is set to hold parliamentary primaries in constituencies where it has no elected members of Parliament.
The seat is currently occupied by the National Democratic Congress’ Mahama Ayariga.
Paul Agombire is in the race with three other contenders.
