The chief of Muslim youth in the Eastern region, Baba Sulley, has said that no Muslim youth will be used by any politician to cause any violence.
He said the idea where politicians make it a point to engage Muslim youth for violent political activities, will not happen this time.
According to him, some politicians are under the mistaken belief that Muslim youth are to be used for violent activities.
But in a strong rejection of that tag, Mr Sulley indicated that it is a mindset of a few politicians who like to generalize the situation.
Speaking to Journalists on Monday April 24, 2023 at Nsawam on the occasion of national Gargajiya festival which was also the Sallah Durbar, Mr Sulley, said the Muslim youth are wild awake and won’t be allowed to engage in such troublesome activities.
He singled out the Minister for Food and Agriculture , Byran Acheampong and warned him against daring to rely on Muslims youth for his loose comment of not handing over power to the National Democratic Congress in 2024.
Mr Sulley who expressed disappointment over the comment of Mr. Bryan Acheampong, further gave the assurance that no Muslim youth under his tenure as their chief will engage in any violent act.
He used the occasion to call on the Inspector General Of Police, Dr George Akuffo Dampare to do something more decisive about the comment made by Mr Bryan Acheampong .
“There was no basis for Mr Acheampomg to have made those comment because it does not take him to determine who to hand over power to “ , he noted.
“I condemn his statement and will like him to know that he is no man than any of us except that we all want the peace and unity of this country “ , he added .
