Music and media entrepreneur, Abdullai Abu Sadiq (Baba Sadiq) has officially announced his bid to contest the National Democratic Congress’ parliamentary primaries.
He will be running for the position at the Okaikoi Central Constituency.
Speaking to Joy Entertainment on February 23, 2023, the 3Music Awards co-founder said “yesterday was when the portals for forms were opened so I went through the process, did some submissions and I’m going through the endorsement process.”
Sadiq said he would go through the rest of the processes, campaign and eventually hope to be voted for to lead the party to wrestle the parliamentary seat from the New Patriotic Party.
He has, for the past years, been heavily involved in affairs of the party, prominent among which was his contribution to the drafting of the creative arts manifesto for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) prior to the 2020 elections.
Another showbiz person who will be contesting in the NDC parliamentary primaries is actor and business mogul Fred Nuamah.
He is seeking to contest the National Democratic Congress’ parliamentary slot for the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency.
Meanwhile, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced May 13, 2023, for both presidential and parliamentary primaries.
According to the party, parliamentary candidates will pick a form at a cost of GH¢5,000 and pay a non-refundable filing fee of GH¢40,000.
The cost of forms for the presidential candidates is GH¢30,000 and file same at a non-refundable filing fee of GH¢500,000.
