The Chiefs and people of the Asere Stool, have firmly reiterated the enstoolment of Nii Noyaa, also known as Elliot Yartey Boye, declaring him an illegitimate chief and urged the public not to recognise him as such.

Briefing the media at Nii Boiman, the Dzaasetse and Acting Nii Boiman Mantse, Nii Ayi Mensah Okropong I, addressed the concerns surrounding Nii Noyaa’s claims to chiefdom.

He clarified that while Nii Noyaa was initially installed as a development chief, he has since misrepresented his position by parading himself as the Chief of Nii Boiman and illegally installing sub-chiefs without the authority to do so.

“Nii Noyaa’s actions go against our traditions and disrupt the rightful lineage of leadership within the Asere Stool. This distoolment is crucial to ensure the integrity of our governance and the respect of our customs.” Said Nii Okropong I.

The Nii Boiman Dzasetse emphasized that it stands united in its decision to remove Nii Noyaa from any recognition of authority and called upon the community to reject any attempts by him to assert power and to support only those leaders duly installed within the purview of traditional rites.

“We urge the residents of Nii Boiman to be vigilant and to report any further illegal activities by Nii Noyaa,” said Nii Okropong I. “Our community needs to come together to safeguard our traditions.”

He also used the platform to advise his Asafoatsemei (Warlords) to practice patience and tolerance and to avoid any conflicts that could disrupt the unity of Nii Boiman and emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and harmony within the community.

Nii Ayi Mensah Okropong I, further stated that as a Chief, he welcomes all visits from political parties during the Homowo festivities but expressed concern over attempts by Elliot Nii Yartey to politicize the chieftaincy system, which goes against traditional practices.

He, therefore, urged all his followers to refrain from politicizing chieftaincy matters.

The Acting Mantse asked the Police to intervene and monitor the situation closely and has requested an investigation into Nii Yartey Boye’s status as a Chief.

Nii Ayi Mensah Okropong I emphasized the importance of addressing the issue promptly to prevent any further escalation.

Nii Ayi Mensah Okropong I called on the community to work together to maintain the integrity of their traditions and community and to uphold peace and unity within Nii Boiman.
