The 2022 Cocoa Day and 75th anniversary lecture of COCOBOD has been launched.
It was launched today, Monday, 19 September 2022, at the University for Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).
The topic for this year’s lecture is COCOBOD@75: Sustaining Our Environment, Wealth and Health.
Former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Professor Ebenezer Oduro Owusu speaking at the launch of the lecture, underscored the need to improve cocoa research, including, to encourage domestic consumption, attract the youth to venture into cocoa farming and invite private investment into local value addition.
These Professor Oduro Owusu noted will be a means to sustain cocoa as the backbone of the country’s economy.
