The District Chief Executive for the Binduri district in the Upper East Region, Yakubu Ayinga Abagre, has advised some selected leap beneficiaries in the area to take the programme wholeheartedly as it is geared at reducing poverty in the area.
He made this known to the people on November 10, 2022, during an encounter with some selected men and women of the area under the Ghana Productive Safety Net Project (Productive Inclusive Programme), a subsidiary of the leap beneficiary programme in the office of the Business Advisory Center in the Binduri district.
This programme comprises of Shea butter extraction, Animal rearing, Malt Preparation and rice parboiling. It is aimed at helping the people into entrepreneurship.
In the meeting with these noble beneficiaries of the programme, the industrious government appointee won the hearts of the people by talking into details the relevance of the programme. He mentioned that the prime agenda of the programme is to help reduce poverty in the area and provide for the needy in society.
In the midst of rising economic distress in the country, the sharp-witted DCE, managed to woe audience into applauding the ruling New Patriotic Party government.
The DCE added that, beneficiaries should be grateful to the little that is provided to them and work towards attaining more.

This programme when extended to many other communities and managed effectively, it would be more relevant as the touted but unaccomplished “one district one factory” programme and release the indigents off their basic needs.
