A youth group within the National Democratic Congress (NDC) calling itself, ‘ Eagle Eyesight’, has warned against vote buying and monetization in the upcoming internal elections of the party.
The group, said delegates should look out for those who will not be sellouts when they are given the nod to serve at different positions.
Addressing a press conference on Monday, September 26, 2022, the convener of the group, Mr Patrick Winihood Ndego, urged delegates to look at for unique attributes of all aspirants.
“ The attributes may include but not limited to loyalty, hardworking, fearless , and most importantly those who will not sell out our fortune for monitory gains”, he stressed.
As the 2024 elections draws close , Mr Ndego, expressed the hope that properly formulated branch, constituency, regional and national structures, will help elect leaders with party and national interest at heart who deliver the victory for the party.
The Akufo-Addo administration, he pointed out has failed woefully and that Ghanaians will not forgive the National Democratic Congress, if they allow the NPP to manipulate the 2024 general elections.
“ Therefore, we will need selfless , hardworking, devoted and charismatic persons who can stand against this tyrannical and wicked government”, he urged .
The group, he pointed out is monitoring closely candidates who claimed not to have money to support the 2020 general elections but have suddenly surfaced with huge monies to keep their positions.
“ They will be met head-on without recourse to any party structure. Any executive who will sell out his vote will also not be spared. “, he warned.
