NNF Esquire Limited, a Ghanaian Book Publisher, has launched The Change Makers Series, a new range of reading materials seeking to expose children to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The launch held at the Goethe Institute was on the theme: Nurturing Change Makers for a Sustainable world .
Books and other educational materials were unveiled at a mini exhibition, as part of the launch at the Goethe Institute in Accra.
Speaking at the ceremony, the General Manager of NNF Esquire Limited, Mr Elvis Klaye, said the SGDs, were often discussed by governments and policy makers, but it was appropriate to also engage children on the subject with an exciting approach
According to him, the aim of the initiative was to help children become change makers, who find solutions to problems in their environment.
He added that they want to distribute 100 free school bags to deprived schools under the love NNF programme.
There was a distribution of kits, which contained copies of the change maker’s series and other stationery items, which learners can use .
He used the occasion to also urged corporate bodies to support the initiative
The Director of NNF Esquire Limited, Mr Frank Y.K. Segbawu, who also spoke at the event, urged parents to procure the learning materials and that each book covered at least two of the SDGs and would be made available in schools and selected stationery shops in the country.
He said the publications are to help children relate to the SDGs and practicalise them in their daily activities.
