“NPP members will pay more of E-levy because we are more than NDC” – MCE

The Municipal Cheif Executive (MCE) for Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipal Assembly (EKMA), Mr Kojo Acquah has shared his opinion on the controversial E-levy which is to be implemented in 2022.

Speaking on Skyy Power 93.5FM on Wednesday, December 8, he made it known that E-levy is one of the best initiatives by the government and it will help speed development and spread it to a larger part of the country.

He also indicated that it is shocking for Ghanaians to complain about every initiative by the government which will boost development.

According to him, Ghanaians complain when the government goes to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for loans to fund developmental projects and does not understand again why they are complaining when the government is trying to avoid the IMF and generate revenue locally for projects.

He however went further to criticise the opposition party and their propaganda against the government in relation to the controversial E-levy, he indicated that the majority of the citizens that will pay the E-levy are New Patriotic Party (NPP) members.

“I can authoritatively say that, when it comes to the payment of the E-levy, we the NPP members are going to be the ones to pay more because our membership supersedes the NDC.”

“This is because we have won the recent elections which shows that we have the numbers and we are not even complaining about any E-levy.”
