New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Zebilla Constituency in the Upper East Region, has drilled 85 boreholes for water-scarce communities of his constituency.
Responding to the cry of distressed community members relative to scarcity of portable and safe water, Dr John Kingsley Kurugu last week, commissioned 85 boreholes to beneficiary communities.
The gesture, The Herald learnt has brought a major relief to residents as an end to the distress and uncertain daily search for safe water has arrived.
Daily household activities, prior to Dr Kurugu’s intervention were always disrupted as female adults have to walkmiles in search of water.
Akudpoka Alal, a resident of Dagunga, one of the beneficiary communities was elated by the project and called for God blessings on the life of Dr. Kurugu . “We are grateful to Dr. Kurugu for this initiative. We have been relieved off the stress of walking forkilometers in search of water. God bless him”.
“We were suffering. We thank John Kurugu for his intervention. May God bless him. May victory be his”. Says Akuntam, a delighted resident of Tempal, one of the beneficiary communities.
Dr John Kingsley Kurugu is the Executive Director of The Environmental Protection Agency.
He admonished residents to vote massively for him in the December elections. For him, more developmental projects will be his priority should Ghanaians elect the New Patriotic Party come December 7.
Describing water as life, John Kurugu, stated that he felt worried over how people in the affected communities go through pain just to access portable water.
This, he added motivated him to put in the needed efforts and resources towards the realisation of the project.
