The State Housing Company Limited (SHC) has organised an open house event for prospective homeowners at Amrahia in Accra to showcase its housing development and provide Ghanaians with an opportunity to own homes.

Dubbed Surge Homes, the event showcased 195 housing units to prospective homebuyers seeking affordable and decent accommodation.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Managing Director of State Housing Company Limited, Mr John S. Bawah, said the company had established a mortgage desk to assist low- and middle-income earners in acquiring their own homes.

He noted that the decline in interest rates from 25 per cent to 13 per cent provided some relief for prospective homeowners and made homeownership more accessible.

The open house attracted a large number of Ghanaians who visited the facility to make enquiries about the available housing units, with some prospective buyers making outright purchases.
