The Aduman Secondary School in the Afigya –Kwabre District will on Friday July 26, hold its second speech and prize giving day to honour some staff members and students who had excelled in their various academic activities for the past years.
The occasion which will be under the theme “Discipline, Essential Tool For Academic Development” is expected to be chaired by the Omanhene of the Akyerensua Traditional Area in the Brong Ahafo Region, Professor Agyiwoden Adu Gyamfi Anpem, who is also the chairman o f the Ghana Educational Council.
The Headmaster of the school, Mr. Prince Joseph Aguri- Amanfo told this reporter in an exclusive interview that he will use the occasion to out line the problems that have been militating against the fast development of the school in terms of infrastructure.
“I will highlight on most of the challenges the school is facing, I hope if some of these hurdles are cleared we will be in better position to admit more fresh students in the next academic year,” he disclosed.
According to him, a school with students population of about 2, 760 has no assembly and dinning halls and lacks enough dormitories for both boys and girls as well bungalows for masters.
He explained that as a result of non availability of these facilities, it has become extremely difficult to instill the expected discipline in the students.
Mr. Aburi-Amanfo noted that the deplorable state of the road from the town linking the school is also having a telling effects on the school, this is because the school buses often break down due to the poor nature of the road.
