A Journalist with Radio Gold, Patrick Asford Boadu, is seeking to be the next communication officer for the National Democratic Congress for the Weija-Gbawe Constituency.
The Journalist with many years of experience in broadcasting , public speaking and organizational skills, is going into the race with these attributes which he is expected to use to give the NDC a new phase in the Weija- Gbawe constituency.
Known for his selflessness and dedication to the course of the party in the constituency, words on the lips of the members in the constituency is that it is a straight win for him.
Mr Ashford Boadu, has since filed his nominations and relying on his message of strategic, tactical and innovation communication to emerge victorious.
Mr Boadu , who went through a successful vetting over the weekend picked the first slot on the ballot .
He is going into the contest against two other hopeful who seem to be no match in terms of his pedigree and presence in the constituency.
Among his credentials, include having serve as a presidential correspondent for Radio Gold and aide to a former Parliamentary Candidate for the NDC for the Weija-Gbawe Gbawe, Obuobia Darko Opoku.
He told The Herald, it is a done deal since the delegates will reward hard work and party loyalty.
On his part, Mr Emmanuel Coffie, who used to work with Radio Gold, is contesting for the deputy Communication Officer position also for the same Weija-Gbawe constituency.
He is also slugging it out with two other aspirants, but an optimistic Mr Coffie, who is widely known as Sir Coffie, believe this is the time to take up roles in the party to implement all the ideas and experiences gathered in the field of Journalism to help the course of the party.
He goes into the contest with an enviable achievement of being the communications and media aide to a one-time Presidential aspirant for the NDC for the 2020 general elections .
When The Herald caught up with Sir Coffie on his motivation, he said the NDC needs to win the Weija-Gbawe seat and that for him depends on an effective communication which he is seeking to offer.
The last time NDC won parliamentary seat in Weija-Gbawe , he said was 2000 elections and again lost it during the 2004 elections.
The party , he noted has since then failed to win any elections..
In view of this , he said he is teaming up with Mr Asford Boadu, to work tirelessly through effective communication strategies to win both the presidential and parliamentary elections for the NDC.
“ We want power and will do anything to help the NDC win the 2024 elections in Weija- Gbawe”, he stressed.
