The forty-day Adua of Wuro of Agona Nyakrom Zongo, Wuro Alhaji Sanni, will take place at the Agona Nyakrom Zongo Central Mosque on Saturday March 5, 2022, 9am.
According to his family, the programme starts in the morning with Quran recital, followed by a durbar of Chiefs on Saturday March 5, 2022, at the Agona Nyakrom Methodist School Park at 12:30pm.
Chief mourners included; Omanhene Okofo Okatakyi Nyarko-EKU X, Omahene of Agona Nyakrom, Wuro Dawood Chedre Brenai 11, Paramount Chief Of Tem Kotokolis Of Ghana, Nana Aliya Isso-Nyina Cha-Attakorah 1, Manwere Hemaa of the Akyode Traditional Area and President of the Tem Kotokoli Queenmothers of Ghana, Wuro Abdul Rauf, Acting Wuro of Agona Nyakrom Zongo, Children, Grandchildren, and Great grandchildren.
Alhaji Mohammed Sanni, attended Aggrey Memorial Secondary School, where he obtained his O’Level, before proceeding to St. Augustine College for his A’Level, also in Cape Coast in the Central Region.
He gained admission to the University of Ghana, Legon, he was among the very first few northerners who attended Legon with the likes of lawyer Ibrahim Mahama and former President Dr. Hilla Liman, who also happened to be his roommate in London College of economics.
While studying at the University of Ghana, for his first degree, he worked briefly at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) in various departments.
After leaving university, he first taught at the O’Reilly Senior High School, known as “O’REISCO”, before rejoining GBC in 1967.
Immediately after rejoining GBC, he was chosen among a group of colleagues who were selected to go Britain to learn television, this was at the time GBC, wanted to introduce television broadcasting, in addition to radio broadcasting in the country.
Upon his return from London, he resigned from GBC and joined Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB).
He was posted to Tamale, the northern regional capital, after a few years, he was sent to Bolgatanga, which was then the capital for the Upper region to be trained to become a Bank Manager.
After the training, he was posted to head the Wa branch of the Bank.
After Wa, he was posted back to Tamale to head that branch.
By dint of hardwork and dedication, GCB, also took him to London to its London branch.
Alhaji Mohammed Sanni, who was known at the GCB as the “emperor of the suffering masses” worked with the bank for 32 years, before retiring in 1997, as the Area Manager for the Eastern Region.
The family expects all loved ones and sympathizers to come join them perform his Adua at Agona Nyarkrom in the Central Region on Saturday.
