The Palestinian ambassador to Ghana, H.E Abdal Fatah Ahmed Khalil Alsatarri, has made food donations to some Muslim communities at a ceremony at the Embassy in Accra .
The donation was some 5kilogram of rice which was distributed to over 600 Muslims drawn from areas such as Mamobi, Nima, Kanda and Kawukudi towards their celebration at the end of the Ramadan fast.
Speaking to Journalists after the ceremony to hand over the rice on Friday, March 31, 2023, the Ambassador, indicated that the donation was in line with the teaching of Islam.
According to him, it is incumbent on all well meaning people to share with all humans of Muslim descent as they embark on the Holy month of fasting.
Despite the challenges his country is facing, he said it cannot prevent him from sharing with Ghanaians he consider as his second family.
He, therefore called on Muslims to use the fast to pray for more peace across the globe .
The spokesperson for the National Chief Imam , Sheikh Aremeyaw Shaibu, who was at the ceremony to offer support, told Journalists it is in the spirit of Islam for the helping of one another .
Islam, he explained teaches about giving to the needy and helping one another.
The gesture by the Palestinian ambassador, he therefore pointed out is commendable, despite facing aggression in their country.
He called on other well meaning people to emulate the example of the Palestinian ambassador to share with the less privileged.
