The Office of the Registrar of Companies (ORC) has initiated processes to remove 453 companies from Ghana’s Companies Register, while 323 others have already been struck off and dissolved for non-compliance.
In a notice issued on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, the ORC said the two actions affect a total of 776 companies under the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992).
The 453 companies are facing strike-off proceedings under Section 289(3) of the Act. Their names were published in Volume 48 of the ORC Companies Bulletin on October 15, 2026.
The companies will be removed from the register three months after the notice unless valid reasons are presented to prevent the action.
The second category comprises 323 companies that have already been struck off following the expiration of the statutory notice period under Section 289(5) of the Act.
The ORC said notices of intention to strike off the companies had earlier been published in Volume 40 of the Companies Bulletin. As no cause was shown to prevent the action within the stipulated period, the companies were removed from the register.
Their dissolution was subsequently published in Volume 49 of the bulletin, dated October 15, 2026.
The Registrar said the exercise forms part of efforts to strengthen regulatory compliance and maintain the accuracy and reliability of Ghana’s Companies Register.
The ORC has urged affected companies, creditors, shareholders and other interested parties to take the necessary steps to regularise their status, where applicable, or contact the Office for guidance.
