Michael Okyere Baafi, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the New Juaben South constituency in the Eastern Region, has inspected some roads under construction in the constituency.
The work, which is being done to give a major facelift to Koforidua township, is being executed by the Ghanaian construction company, Maripoma Enterprise Limited.
Mr Baafi, who doubles as the Deputy Trade Minister, last Thursday night toured the various construction sites that the Maripoma has been working to inspect the progress of work.
It was also to interact with the workers of Maripoma, as well as get assurances from them that their work will not disrupt commercial activities and also inconvenience residents.
In the company of the MP, were the Eastern Regional Urban Roads Engineer and the Resident Engineer for Maripoma Enterprise.
The Herald learnt that Maripoma, has been in the New Juaben Municipality for some time now and working fervently to restore roads in the Eastern Regional capital, Koforidua.
New Juaben South constituency is surrounded by as many as five constituencies namely; Okere, Yilokrobo, Suhum, New Juaben North and Akuapem South.
Residents of these constituencies, have oftentimes mistaken issues in the other constituencies and heaped blame on the New Juaben South constituency.
