Police in the Ashanti Region are on a manhunt for some four suspected armed robbers who robbed and injured a business man in Kumasi.
The robbers are said to have taken away about GHS 50,000 after shooting the man at Asafo Market in the Ashanti regional capital.
The incident which occurred around 2:00 PM, on Wednesday September 8, 2022, reports Kumasi-based OTEC FM.
The victim who spoke to press men disclosed that one of the robbers accosted him and asked him to bring his money.
”At first glance, I felt he was joking, but the man brought out a gun and threatened to shoot if I refused to give him money,” he recounted.
“I managed to strike the gun down not knowing he had another gun in his pocket , he immediately pulled the other gun and shot me almost at the same time.”
“I was saved by God, because at the time he pulled the trigger, I had slipped from the stair case,” he added.
He said he only saw the one who attacked him and took the money from him.
Meanwhile the police say the robbers were four and have commenced investigations into the matter.
