Burkina Faso’s Minister for Industry, Commerce and Crafts, Serge Gnaidem Poda, has praised the quality and creativity of Ghanaian artefacts during a visit to the Ghana Village Pavilion at the 18th International Arts and Handicraft Trade Show of Ouagadougou (SIAO 2026).
Mr Poda made the remarks on Monday, November 2, 2026, during a visit to the Ghanaian exhibition ahead of Ghana Day celebrations scheduled for Tuesday, November 3.

Accompanied by officials of his ministry and traditional rulers, the minister was received by Ghana’s Ambassador to Burkina Faso, Kenneth Akibate, who highlighted the significance of Ghana’s participation in the international exhibition.
Mr Poda expressed admiration for the diversity and craftsmanship of the items on display, noting the cultural heritage and creativity reflected in the works of Ghanaian artisans.
Ghana’s participation at SIAO 2026 is aimed at showcasing the country’s traditional crafts and artefacts while promoting its cultural identity to an international audience.

Earlier, Ghana’s Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, had encouraged participants and visitors at the exhibition to visit the Ghana Village Pavilion and experience the country’s cultural heritage through its traditional crafts.
The Ghana Day celebration on November 3 is expected to further spotlight Ghanaian artisans and their works at the international trade show.
